You can cover it. I had a small hair system at the time in the frontal area where I was thinning. I put it back on the next afternoon. Many people will wear a hat, scarf or simply style their hair to cover the area afterwards.

Is it okay for transplanted hair to be covered? Or is it okay to have it exposed?

Redness will almost certainly go away with time. Healing is related to the amount grafts you received, your body's natural healing speed and environment. A slight pink color usual means you are healing fine but you can try hydro cortisone cream 0.05% and apply it to the pink or red areas in three or four 12 hour applications per week.

Both the Couvre and Toppik are great if you have some hair in the area. If you have no hair in the area, add a concealer to the mix for best results. It worked for me and several of my friends who've had the procedure done.
